The William and Mary matelasse is based on a coverlet from the textile collections of Colonial Williamsburg. The antique's sophisticated design was made in Portugal in the late seventeenth century and features mythological flora and fauna motifs separated by columned arches. Coverlets and bedspreads serve as a beautiful bedcover by itself or as an accessory when layering with your favorite print linens.
