Here are some tips for taking care of down products:
CLEANING: Down products do not have to be dry cleaned. In fact, dry cleaning can reduce the effectiveness of a down comforter. You can extend the longevity of down comforters and pillows by washing them as infrequently as possible.
IF USING A HOME WASHER: Set to a gentle cycle using warm water and a down wash detergent. Check out our down wash detergent.
SKIP THE FABRIC SOFTENER
DRYING: Press the water out by hand and then dry on a low setting. If you are drying a comforter, make sure to frequently rearrange it by pulling it from the dryer and putting it back. This prevents the fabric from becoming over-dried in some areas and ensures even exposure to the heat.
RE-FLUFF: Restore the down clusters by re-fluffing.
STORAGE: Do not store in a plastic bag. Store down products in a paper box, paper bag, or fabric enclosure so that the down can breathe. Do not store heavy items on top of the bag.
CHECK LABELS: Check the manufacturer's care instructions, usually found on the label for additional information.
