Pillowtex Corporation, headquartered in Kannapolis, N.C., was a leading designer, marketer and producer of home fashion products including towels, sheets, rugs, blankets, pillows, mattress pads, feather beds, comforters and decorative bedroom and bath accessories. The company marketed products under its own brand names including Cannon, Fieldcrest, Royal Velvet and Charisma. The company also designed and manufactured private-label home textile products for leading retailers. Pillowtex operated manufacturing and distribution facilities in the U.S. and Canada and employed approximately 7,650 people.

The original manufacturer of Charisma, Royal Velvet, and Fieldcrest products (Pillowtex Corporation) went bankrupt in 2003. When the company was liquidated, the rights to their well known brand names including Cannon, Fieldcrest, Royal Velvet and Charisma were sold to a licensing company that collects royalties for their use. Eldridge Textile Company does not sell any Charisma, Royal Velvet or Fieldcrest products other than the original items that were manufactured in the U.S.A. by Pillowtex Corporation.
