  • A Lesson On Fill Power. Fill power is the most misunderstood term in the down industry. Fill power is the true measure of quality in a down fill. It measures of the volume (in cubic inches) that one ounce of down will occupy. The more volume one ounce expands to, the better the quality. Expanded down will trap body heat to maintain an even, comfortable temperature. Look for higher fill powers when you want clean down and a finished product, which provides insulation without bulky weight.

Baffle Box Construction - Baffle box means there are thin strips of material sewn between the top and bottom covers that form a grid of square boxes (called baffles). The baffles prevent the down from shifting to the sides of the comforter and allows the down to loft more evenly throughout the comforter eliminating cold spots.
